Process
Is the defined operating model complete, coherent, appropriately tailored, and aligned with the requirements that apply?
Assess whether the defined process is fit for purpose, verify how it is applied in real work, review the quality of its outputs, and turn findings, metrics, evidence, and practitioner experience into governed improvements.
PEDCO combines independent assurance expertise with the Applied SAFe® Platform to connect process, documents, people, and execution evidence in one continuous learning loop.
A process can look complete on paper and still fail in practice. A project can follow the expected activities while producing weak work products. Metrics can show that something is changing without explaining why. And improvement ideas often remain scattered across audit reports, retrospectives, spreadsheets, and local team initiatives.
The objective is not more assurance activity. It is a better operating model that learns from how work actually happens.
With the Process Fitness Check, we examine and assess your current process landscape. In an initial step, we pose important questions and analyse your process landscape accordingly. The result is a detailed report that also covers any weak points or options for improvement in the process landscape.
BenefitsThe PEDCO team organises and hosts a two-day workshop and carries out a SWOT analysis of your process landscape together with your stakeholders. Together we analyse the current situation for the process organisation.
BenefitsWe regularly inspect one or more of your endeavors (e.g. quarterly, related to milestones) for specified critical key points. In doing this we not only examine the formal criteria. The review in fact also deals with the content of the documents to comply with defined standards and sector-specific requirements.
This service is of particular interest for smaller and medium-sized companies that feel unsure about the way their endeavors are executed or are dissatisfied with their process.
BenefitsWe survey your projects individually or your project portfolio as a whole. We not only do the numbers for the work products but also examine to see whether they are really serving a purpose and are feasible. In cases of doubt, we discuss the work products with the people responsible for them.
This includes the following metricsThe benchmarking service is a comparative, anonymous metric service, which compares its own metrics with the peers or with all the clients of PEDCO, and shows you where your organisation stands regarding process efficiency.
BenefitsActual experience gained from your endeavors is recorded by us as best practice and made available for your whole user community. We not only record the new practice but propose process changes and collect examples and fully embed these in the framework. These are customer-specific extensions made on request.
BenefitsAuditors can review only part of the process landscape, sample a limited number of artifacts, and interview a small number of people. AI can increase the breadth and depth of the analysis — without replacing auditor judgment.
BenefitsA checklist can confirm that a required artifact exists. It cannot determine whether the artifact is complete, consistent, useful, and aligned with the process expectations behind it.
BenefitsEvidence of execution lives in the tools and artifacts used to perform the work: tickets, requirements, code repositories, reviews, test results, approvals, traceability, release information, and other operational records.
The objective is not to enforce one generic process everywhere. It is to verify adherence against the process that should actually apply to that context.
BenefitsExecution evidence, metrics, audits and assessments, retrospectives, practitioner experience, process-owner proposals, recurring workarounds, customer or regulatory changes, new engineering practices — the challenge is connecting those signals to the operating model, understanding the underlying cause, deciding what should change, and measuring whether the change actually helped.
BenefitsApproved improvements are propagated to the contexts that inherit them — then measured and assured again.
The combination provides a stronger basis for improvement than any one signal alone.
Is the defined operating model complete, coherent, appropriately tailored, and aligned with the requirements that apply?
Do the outputs contain what they are expected to contain — and are they usable, consistent, and sufficient for the purpose they serve?
Do practitioners understand the process? Where do they experience friction, ambiguity, or workarounds? Why does actual practice differ?
Do the activities, approvals, tests, traceability, reviews, and other expected process outcomes appear in the systems where the work is performed?
What does performance data tell us about flow, quality, efficiency, stability, or recurring problems?
No. Formal assessment readiness is one use case, but the service family is broader. It includes process fitness, recurring reviews, work-product quality, execution adherence, metrics, benchmarking, practitioner feedback, and continuous improvement.
No. AI accelerates analysis, evidence review, synthesis, and recommendation generation. Accountable people remain responsible for formal findings, process decisions, and approval of governed changes.
A Process Fitness Check looks primarily at whether the process landscape itself is fit for purpose. A Process Adherence Assessment looks at whether actual execution in a selected context reflects the effective process that was supposed to apply.
The Review Board Service is the established PEDCO recurring review service for selected endeavors and critical milestones and includes substantive document review. Document & Work-Product Review is a focused platform-enabled service for deeper analysis of the actual content of selected artifacts against the process, templates, requirements, and expected quality criteria. The two can be combined.
Process Improvement Service captures experience from endeavors and embeds useful practices, examples, and customer-specific process changes into the process framework. Continuous Improvement Service creates a broader recurring loop that can combine execution evidence, metrics, assessment findings, retrospectives, practitioner feedback, surveys, and AI voice interviews; analyse root causes and impact; propose changes; support human approval; propagate approved improvements; and measure the result again.
Whether you need an independent process assessment, recurring project reviews, deeper work-product analysis, execution verification, metrics, benchmarking, or a systematic improvement mechanism, start from the evidence you have and connect it back to the operating model you can change.
